DESCRIPTION
One of the weakest ports in the formidable Atari 5200 library, Galaxian is faster than — but in no way better than — the 1979 arcade classic of the same name. It lacks the methodical gameplay and precision shooting of the original in favor of a quicker, more herky-jerky type of action. In addition, the ship is squatty, the non-centering joysticks keep the ship moving even when you don't want it to, and the audio effects are pathetic (what happened to the cool missile sounds?). Stick with the vastly superior ColecoVision port, or, to be really adventurous, try Galactic Invasion for the Bally Astrocade. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
