Featuring colorful graphics and riveting sound effects,Galaxian was the first Space Invaders-type game in which the attackers were free to leave the formation and dive-bomb the player's ship. Although enemy movements are predictable, the game has two elements of play which make it an enjoyable challenge: diving enemies are worth more than enemies in formation, and shooting one or two escorts prior to hitting the flagships gives players huge scoring bonuses.
