DESCRIPTION
The first console port of the greatest arcade shooter of all time, Galaga for the Atari 7800 is somewhat of a failure in terms of being a pure adaptation. The ship is too small, the stars aren't colorful, and overall the game lacks the gusto and the graphic vibrancy of its progenitor. In addition, the home version allows for continuous fire by holding down the button, something the original game wisely avoided. On the brighter side, the sound effects and enemies follow roughly the same patterns as their coin-op counterparts, and the shooting action, while not as intense or as crisp, does maintain some of its fun factor. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
