Using a USB-compatible microphone, players can record samples from CD, tape, or even a live performance with a favorite instrument. Musical gamers without an instrument handy can still record their own original tunes, simply by humming them into the microphone; the "V2M" ("Voice2Music") feature can interpret the melody and play it back as a synthesizer routine or guitar riff.
