He's back! Frogger, the arcade hero, has returned for another adventure. This time he is traveling beyond the pond. Underwater, on the ground and through the air, Frogger must make his way to safety in three radically different levels.
As one might assume, Frogger II: Threedeep is the sequel to the popular arcade hit Frogger.
Your objective remain the same as in the original: Help Frogger reach his home before time runs out. Gameplay is similar to the original Frogger with a few enhancements and changes.
You start the game underwater. Here Frogger must make his way to the surface, avoiding such hazards as fish, submarines and eels. Nearing the surface, Frogger can either end his journey by hopping into one of the floating logs, or continue onto the next level by jumping on the end of the log.
The next level looks similar to the original Frogger. Here Frogger must make his way across the pond by jumping on lilypads or the backs of turtles, ducks, whales and hippos to reach a home base, which are floatation rings being pulled along by a tug boat. One deviation from the original Frogger: If Frogger falls into the water on this level, he does not die; rather he falls back to beginning of the underwater level.
On this level, the player also has the option of going to the third level by jumping on the back of the mama duck. The duck flies you high into the clouds where you must bounce yourself up and onto the backs of birds and zeppelins until you reach your home bases in the skies. Fall through the clouds, and you find yourself on the surface level.
Fill up all of the home bases to go onto the next level of difficulty. There are nine difficulty levels all together.
Scoring is as follows:
Reaching a home base ... 99 points Advancing a row (underwater and surface screens only) ... 1 point Time remaining ... 1 point per tick
Bonus points: Eating an air bubble ... 50 points Jumping off a lily pad ... 50 points Eating a butterfly ... 50 points Note: Bonus points are collected only when Frogger reaches a home base on that same screen.
