“Yes, I've done all of those, numerous times. Even though both at the time and now I fail to see how any of those three things would cause the game to crash only during that particular circumstance.”

“Except I can see how reinstalling it would, in case there was a corrupt file or something. But I have reinstalled it, several times, plus the fact that the demo did it as well kind of blew the corrupt file theory out of the water.”

“I'm not really a hardware guy, so take what I say with more than a grain of salt, but since it seems to be fine until you load a new area, and I've never seen an app bring down an OS (without being programmed specifically to take advantage of an exploit), I'm thinking it's tickling a hidden hardware fault.”

I'm just sooo curious as to why it's only that stage, that level. Even on the demo, when I tried to quit.”

“It could be the one level with the largest number of textures in use at one time, the only one using some obscure function call on your video card, or the only one where a single corrupted file needs to be opened (the villain's speech or a cut scene video, for example).”
