Do you have what it takes to work your way up the ranks and contend for the title of Heavyweight Champion of the World? Find out with Foreman For Real for the Game Gear. Tournament mode puts you in contention for the crown; you must defeat 19 fighters before you earn the right to go up against "Big" George Foreman.
Each fighter has unique talent and a boxing style, with individual ratings in speed, power, offense, stamina and defense. Fighter archetypes include bull, counter puncher, knockout artist, pug, punisher, rock, slugger, southpaw, speed merchant and technician.
Exhibition mode lets you compete to bring your boxer up to the professional level. Rounds are scored on cards by judges using a 10-point scoring system. These matches do not count towards your ranking. You can fight as any of the boxers, including George Foreman, and you can choose any opponent.
You view the action in Foreman for Real from behind your boxer. The fight screen shows each fighter's damage meter, time remaining in the round, round number, and number of Super Punches remaining. You get an additional Super Punch (a maximum of three) for winning a round. Standard punches and moves include jab, cross, body blow, hook, uppercut, overhand, cover-up, clinch, bob and duck.
If you're in the middle of a tournament and you have to shut down your Game Gear or otherwise stop playing the game, don't sweat it — a password feature is available for saving your progress. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
