DESCRIPTION
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is the original Japanese SNES series' second release for North American GBAs. As in earlier editions, gameplay involves console-style role-playing and tactical, turn-based combat. The game's subtitle refers to five magic stones, which were used in ancient times to seal away the forces of evil, but came to be used as heirlooms by the five royal families that rule the game world continent of Magi Varl. When conflict comes to the continent, and royal families are conquered, the true power of the magic stones is realized. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“Although the new Fire Emblem lost it's touch imo, I have always loved the Fire Emblem storys and characters. The fighting is intense, the games themselves are very hard, and you feel a painful loss for every character in your army that dies, with the exception of the most recent addition. They take a long time to complete, and you feel a sense of awe and wonder when the plot twists or thickens in a way that you never expected.
I can't pick a personal favorite of all the Emblem games, as they all have a great story, relatable characters, and fun gameplay. My only wish is that we get a new version soon, because I'm getting a bit ancy lol :P ”

“The first Fire Emblem game I ever played and now I LOVE the other games except shadow dragon because I never played it. The Game starts off with prince Ephraim and princess Erika home town being invaded by the king of another country. That king kills Ephraim and Erika's father, the king, and the two split up to find out why the king would do this. You play as Erika for the beginning of the game and them later on can chose to play with Erika some more or go play as Ephraim. Later in the game the two meet up again and you can play as both. If you've never played a fire emblem game before the thing that sets this game apart form other RPGs and that I love about this game is that if a unit on your team dies they don't come back. So if a unit you like a lot dies the only way to stop it is to redo the whole mission over witch is a pain in the ass when the mission start to take you 45min - 1 hours to do. Still a very good game defiantly go pick this up if you have a DS that plays GBA games.”

“The Sacred Stones is the second installment on the GBA and a pretty nice game.
+ The characters and the story may be a bit cliché at times but they get the job done and are actually quite immersive. And that's all I ask :D
+ Besides the base classes you've got 3 starter chars that allow you to customize your force in a way that was previously unheard of. And the best part? If you've completed the story both ways you can afterwards choose to branch them off into the super trainee classes. Nice.
+ Characters now have 2 choices instead of 1 for promotion. Needs no more explanation.
+ After finishing the campaign you can fight some more, unlocking "secret" characters in the progress. Good replayability.
- After finishing a story battle you access a map where you find random battles and shops. I don't like this due to it not fitting with the series. You don't feel like you're in some desperate struggle 'cause, "honey, we gotta go shoppin' for some new pointy sticks" <”

“I really like this game. I must admit, it is kind of annoying that I cannot use my favourite characters in every mission--I really like the bard myself. I kind of want to figure out what it upgrades into though o.o”
