DESCRIPTION

One in a planned three releases set within the Final Fantasy XIII universe, Versus XIII features an entirely new storyline and lead protagonist. Players will guide an enigmatic hero in an effort to protect a beleaguered kingdom's mystical crystals from falling into enemy hands. Unlike the majority of titles in the Final Fantasy series, the dark world in Versus XIII features elements of modern-day technology juxtaposed against medieval weapons and architecture. The main city where the story takes place is not unlike Tokyo, for example, with characters traveling by car. Outside the city more "familiar" fantasy elements take root, including the ability to fight with swords and cast magic spells. Designed by Kingdom Hearts' creator Tetsuya Nomura, Versus XIII adopts a similar real-time combat system that allows players to string together combos and special attacks.
