DESCRIPTION
The Focus Tower had stood at the heart of the world for hundreds of years, a testament to the trials and tribulations of the people of the land. It had been a center of commerce and knowledge and people would meet there to settle their differences.
On a warm, summer day, that all changed and the Tower became a symbol of the purest evil. Powerful monsters fought their way into the Tower, stole the four Crystals of the Earth, and took off with the magical Coins that kept the Towers doors unlocked.
The creatures basked in the light from the powerful Crystals and as they did, the world itself started draining and warping. The seasons went crazy and monsters appeared everywhere. The world had been thrown into chaos.
Enter young Benjamin. As he leads the livestock to the market, he dreams of being more than a simple farmer's son. Help him meet his destiny in Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. ~ Chris Cuson, All Game Guide

“Finally beat the game. This is the 3rd or 4th time. The last time I beat it was when I played it on the original Super Nintendo in the 80's. RPGs have definitely improved since then. I probably...”

“Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is truly a terrible game. You can go nowhere but where they tell you to go and the experience each time you play or replay this game will always be the exact same... I don't mean simply just linear, I mean like everything right down to the battles, levels, and characters in your team will always be the exact same, never deviating... It was also glitch-y and I recall at certain times the game would freeze along with the music at key points.
Did that stop me from beating this game a good 30 times when I was a tot? Nope! Hahaha! I was a hell of a lot less picky back then when it came to what I was playing and now it seems this game has passed over into a nostalgia zone for me. I have a special weakness for this game because the music in the game used to pump me up and it was really enjoyable to watch a boss go through four stages of suffering when you were killing him. I related to none of the characters but for some reason it was always a game that was comfortable to play because you could shut your brain off and just enjoy the sights and sounds.
I'm giving this game 3 stars for myself and my love/hate for it... If anybody wants to try this game I'd recommend emulating it for free and never spending a single amount of money on it.”

“Was a so-so game, but simple and fun. However, the game music still stands out to me. Volcano level ftw!”

“I seriously wonder if this was originally supposed to be a NES game, because the graphics are sub-par compared to the SNES and there is next to no story at all. I beat the game though, just because it was Final Fantasy.”
