DESCRIPTION
This Game Boy Advance cartridge contains enhanced ports of the first two games in Square's cornerstone series, originally available only in Japan for the Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) console. Final Fantasy I has players exploring a large, fantasy game world in a quest to rid it a an evil force, gaining information and new missions as they talk to the NPCs who live in each town, and building a diverse team of characters that can be customized with new skills and powers as they gain experience. Based on the original (Japanese) version of Final Fantasy II, the second game included on this cartridge tells the story of four orphans, who also band together to save their world against evil. Though characters don't level up as they do in the first game, their weapon skills and other abilities become more powerful the more they are used. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls also features newly designed areas and quests in both games, and improved video and audio that takes advantage of the handheld's increased technical power over the original 8-bit console. ~ T.J. “Dawn of Souls brings us the first two installments of this famous series and does not disapoint.
+ The graphics are nicely done. Yes, it's 8-bit, pixels, but who cares? Good sprites mean good graphics :D
+ As always, the music is fantastic. There are some lesser tunes but nothing too bad.
+ The first game allows you to choose your own party. While most people will go for the classic Warrir/Thief/Black Mage/White Mage combo it is a very flexible system and still fun. Too bad games these days have less of this customizability.
+ This may sound odd but I've always found it fantastic to take your ship and land at some dungeon where monsters are well... overpowered when compared to your party :D Always good for a nice challange altough you might need a bit of luck to make it back to safe waters afterwards (unless you're a wuss and do this near a town...)
- The games are old, no denying this. Those of us expecting the suality of FF6+ will be rather disappointed.
- What story? Crystal balls mean "save the world"? yeah... FF2 does this a bit better but the story still isn't that great.”

“Entrambi i giochi sono decisamente invecchiati, se proprio uno deve rigiocarli tanto vale farlo su PSP che almeno la grafica (e l'audio) sono più curati, pur restando in ambito 2D semplice.”
