EA Sports' first soccer entry for the Sega Saturn is FIFA Soccer 96. This game title delivers multiplayer action and full soccer licensing. There are a total of 12 leagues from around the world, a custom league with all-star teams, and more than 3,000 real players. Taking advantage of the 32-bit era, EA Sports was able to produce all of the player actions using SGI workstations with Microsoft's SoftImage 3D program.

When playing FIFA Soccer 96 the sounds will be presented through Dolby Surround Sound. Additionally, John Motson provides color commentary with over 15,000 different phrases. Typical options in EA Sports are all included such as various camera angles, instant replay, and various modes of play.
