The first game from Koei's Canadian studio, Fatal Inertia is a futuristic racing game that showcases a natural, physics-based world. Sleek hovercraft compete in a 22nd century sport called Inertia, which blends elements of street racing, rally racing, and demolition derbies in six environments ranging from canyons and woodlands to glacial areas and oceanic vistas. Players can use a variety of high-powered weapons to alter the environments, causing landslides, avalanches, and other disasters to hinder the progress of rival drivers. Since every action relies on an in-game physics model, no two races or battles will play out the same. Fatal Inertia includes an assortment of competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes, each offering performance-based incentives such as prizes and special items. Vehicles can also be customized with a choice of artistic designs and ability-enhancing parts, with players able to save their most cherished creations to memory card for gaming on the go. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
