F-Zero was first released on the Super Nintendo back in 1991 where it became regarded as the most successful futuristic racer to date with the only competition being provided by Pysgnosis' Wipeout series.
F-Zero X however is a totally new title and thanks to the powerful Nintendo 64, gamers are having something big to cheer about. Visually the game is a little generic however running at 60fps, blistering along at this stupidly fast rate you could almost forgive Nintendo. There is also a huge selection of twenty-four tracks and many vehicles of which have to be earned by finishing top in one of the three difficulties.
F-Zero X also offers unparalleled four player fun and a number of modes including GP, Death, Practice and various option menus. F-Zero X is a futuristic racer that sets new standards in speed and depth on the Nintendo 64. ~ Brad Penniment, All Game Guide
