This download-only expansion for the 4X empire building game Europa Universalis III tacks 50 years on to the beginning of the campaign, letting players start their conquest in October of 1399 rather than 1453. The added half-century coincides with the coronation of England's Henry IV, but also brings the Byzantine Empire, the Hundred Years War, and the Mongolian conqueror Tamerlane into play. The inclusion of these historical events adds to the game's already robust customization options, allowing players the choice of when or whether to establish Great Britain, begin the Spanish Inquisition, or create the Dutch East Indian Company. The new decision system present players with hundreds of situational choices, while the new mission system results in different takes on history as gamers and the computer compete to achieve the same goals. The In Nomine expansion also puts a greater emphasis on the role rebels play in shaping history, and religious tolerance is now more dependent on the decisions players make. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
