DESCRIPTION

Influenced by the film RoboCop, ESWAT puts players in the role of a beat cop on the streets of a typical darkly gritty, though technologically advanced city. Armed with a simple pistol and a replenishable supply of ammo, the cop must blow away druggies, thugs, knife-wielding maniacs and other enemies. After making it past three stiffly animated, though formidable bosses, the cop will don a suit of machine gun-enhanced cybernetic armor. Animation is smooth for the non-boss characters and the graphics are effective at portraying a dark future. The running, ducking, jumping, shoot-'em-up action handles well, but redundancy sets in after extended play. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
