DESCRIPTION

Escape is a poor substitute for Berzerk but with a variety of strange-looking creatures instead of simple robots. Players maneuver a man around a series of eight mazes, shooting (in eight directions) at the colorful creatures while avoiding contact with electrified walls, enemies and hostile fire. The creatures are many in number in later levels, and their faces, arms and legs are animated, but they don't move around much within the mazes. As the title indicates, the goal of the game is to escape each maze. This isn't terribly difficult, but the action is dreadfully slow. Also, the Spinner, which is an indestructible object that attacks when players loiter for too long in a maze, is a poor substitute for Evil Otto, who helped make Berzerk such a memorable game. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
