An ominous creature from an uncharted region of space has invaded a large cave known as Endless. The creature then began a transformation process, turning into a humanoid. Once the transformation process was complete, this vile entity created a massive defensive mechanism and a plethora of guards to roam the catacombs.
Whatever will the good humans do, now that their cave has been overtaken? Here's where you come into the picture. You've been called to pilot a chopper into Endless and put an end to the creature's hazardous plans. The attack chopper is armed with powerful rockets that will aid in the destruction of the defensive mechanism and the hordes of enemies.
Endless is a 2D shooter filled with a variety of enemies to blow up and a vast number of maze-like environments to navigate. In order to complete the mission, you'll have to fire missiles at the roaming enemies and avoid various hazards, such as the electric fences that appear from time to time.
Enemies include donuts, skulls, spaceships, dots and diamond-shaped shockers. There are times when one type of enemy will morph into another unit. Whenever a foe appears on the screen, it'll chase the chopper until it's destroyed. When enemies are eradicated, points are added to the overall total. The points total and other statistics can be accessed once the chopper has been decimated. An informational screen keeps track of how many missiles were fired, how the most recently completed game compares to the last, and so on.
From time to time, you'll come across markers that indicate which direction is which. Because Endless takes place in a rather large, maze-like catacomb, there are times when you might become lost. You can either make a homemade map or memorize the layout. Either way, you'll have to stop this super-creature before it's too late. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
