DESCRIPTION
Egg Mania is a two-player puzzle game where the object is to erect a building using Tetris-shaped pieces to save an egg from drowning. The screen is vertically split into two areas, one for the player and the other for the computer or a friend. Water gradually rises from the bottom of the screen, so players must quickly position pieces to build a sound foundation. A horizontal meter depicts the building's strength in eight increments from blue to red. If players build their structure top-heavy, for example, the meter will rise and the building may come crashing down into the water.
Once players reach the top of the vertically scrolling screen, the egg will jump into a hot air balloon and fly safely away. Play then resumes on a more challenging level where creatures either assist or hinder the building process. Some creatures (up to 30 are included) may take away building blocks, while others may offer invincible blocks. Nine different game modes are available, including an eight-person tournament, a two-player battle, and a single-player tutorial. Players can also unlock secret characters and modes by achieving top scores during competition. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
