DESCRIPTION
The Super NES version of Shiny's groovy platform shooter starring a worm empowered by a mysterious space suit features one less level, the gurgling Intestinal Distress, as well as fewer voice samples than in its Genesis counterpart. Added color, lens flare effects, and multiple layers of parallax scrolling help offset the omissions, but the music isn't much of an improvement considering the differences in systems. Control is also a bit tighter in the Genesis version, but Earthworm Jim is still one of the most challenging, diverse, and humorous platform games on a system filled with quality platform games. Wonderfully weird. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide

“The first in a series of games that would earn cult status, and end up with the games that came a little later to mostly be horribly mismanaged and botched completely right up.”

Though, I will note, I have heard this about Gran Tourismo, "all of the really good drivers I know are also awesome in Gran Tourismo"--and this case may have some merit as I have read through some of the stuff given here.
I may need to somehow grab a PS2 just for a copy of this game.”
