Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (X360)

Nope I haven't tried the demo of dynasty warriors 6, but I'm assuming its just about the same gameplay as 4 with some new things here and there.”

“Strikeforce plays a little better than 6 and Dynasty hasn't changed since 2....oh sorry you can swim now.

I'd recommend the Dynasty Warrior Empires games they are pretty fun to play.

In DW6E you can be a mercenary or a ruler. You can make oaths, friends and even marry. Although it does really effect the game it does add nice change to an already mundane game. The only thing that Empires 6 doesn't have that 5 did was executions. Anyway since I own them all I say go with Strikeforce, but if you like the Dynasty story and want a little flavor go for Empires.

The only thing in DW6E that stinks is if you play co-op and want to start as mercenaries it's easier to start as a ruler so your friend can pick a character and then step down. Or they will get stuck with characters they don't want to play as.”

Thanks I've always wondered what seperated empires from the regular dynasty warriors since people always are saying its the same other than new characters. After playing the demo again. Strikeforce looks nice, but the shortened levels and gameplay that is closer to the terrible "Gundam" dynasty warriors series turns me off.”

“@Bonemane You're welcome. Yeah the big difference is you play leader and pick cards at the beginning of every 3 months. Then you decide to either defend, attack, or do nothing for those 3 months. Then repeat.

So when you pick a card or cards they will either benefit you in battle or help your land. Also they can be used to find allies, betray people and get you more money.

The cards have always been a nice feature but like all Dynasty Warrior games it could be better. In the earlier games you could do evil acts to your people and they would attack you or certain generals would betray you when combat started, they changed this in 6 because of the mercenary stuff. Stuff like that still happens but its not as dramatic as you doing to your people.

I always like serving a ruler for a while and becoming his top general and then betray them. Listening to all the other generals and the leader complain about me betraying them is great. It's a fun series if you still love the Hack N Slash of the other games but want a little more variety. ”

“The way I look at it, Dynasty Warriors has never been any different, it's always the same endless waves of enemies and an arcade feel to the game.

I personally wouldn't touch Dynasty Warriors with a barge pole, I played it a few times and I was like "Psh screw this, I'm going back to(Whatever the hit game was when the 3rd DW came out.)

And a PSP version would just get annoying what with it's crappy graphics and whatnot.”

“It's true that they haven't changed much but I found them stangly addicitive espesaly the empires ones. Don't mention gundam, it never happend.”
