Veteran online game developer Turbine Entertainment brings the classic tabletop fantasy game series to a subscription-based community in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. Set in the Eberron campaign created in 2004, the game launches with five playable races and the following nine classes: barbarian, bard, cleric, fighter, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, and wizard. As in most online role-playing games, players begin by customizing their character䀙s name, gender, and basic appearance before entering a tutorial quest designed to familiarize them with the controls, interface, and style of play.
This is a game I never understood. I want to like it, I really do, but I just don't GET IT. I hate the combat, I don't like the spell system and I don't understand what the hell is going on in the game. I think that most of this comes from the fact that it is my LEAST favorite Dungeons and Dragons setting. The World of Eberron kinda stinks. Why couldn't they do traditional D&D? I mean c'mon: walking metal guys as a race? What the hell? Not to mention a starter town WORSE than AoC's Tortage and you have a recipe for disaster. Plus next to nothing on the solo content.
