DESCRIPTION

Brash, brawny, and blonde Duke Nukem makes his DS debut with Critical Mass, the first of a planned trilogy of Duke Nukem games from Apogee Software. While the series primarily returns to its roots as a side-scrolling platform shooter, there are some perspective-shifting sequences as well. Duke will blast pig cops and other alien creatures from a behind-the-shoulder viewpoint in certain areas, snipe foes from a first-person perspective, and use a jetpack to fly around in overhead sequences. Duke must advance across nine futuristic locales, each consisting of three to four levels in length. An assortment of guns and offbeat weapons, including his "mighty foot," can be selected from the touch-sensitive display as the action unfolds on the top screen. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
