Often, when a successful game is converted to a Game Boy format, it is completely redesigned to offer graphics and gameplay that are quite different from those in the original title. This is not the case with Digital Eclipse's development of Dragon's Lair for the Game Boy Color. This port is designed as a direct recreation of the famous laser disc arcade game of the early 1980s.

The Game Boy Color version features the same timed-twitch gameplay, in a pixilated interactive movie that follows the original nearly scene-for-scene. The game is designed to please younger gamers who are getting their first taste of the classic Rick Dyer/Don Bluth creation, as well as the nostalgic, slightly older set who remember dumping quarter after quarter into the original arcade game. ~ T.J.
