“I've never had a desire to play either Portal, but gamers disagreeing with critics have been going on since the birth of reviews. I’ve heard people wish death upon critics for giving there beloved game a score lower than 9. I’ve read people saying that this game website is trash because they can’t review and they will never return.

So reading an article about a game website surprised about gamers not loving the same game shouldn’t be a surprise to them.

I for one loved Dragon Age Origins (even Awakening) but hated Dragon Age 2. Most critics said the game deserved a great score. I will disagree until I’m blue in the face.

So from what I understand if Valve took everything from the 1st game made it just as fun and funny (both had comedy right?) and fans hated the second more then the 1st then I’m lead to believe that it’s because they game has dead space…lol (Dead Space). Dead Space meaning there are areas that the gamer can’t do anything. Maybe Valve created bigger rooms but only one wall can use a portal, or maybe they have to double back more…seeing the same areas over and over make games very boring…ei Dragon Age 2.

Maybe the puzzles are too simple or there was not enough. One reviewer who loved Portal 2 said that the best part of the game was co-op, but after you played it once it wasn’t fun playing with anyone new because you already knew what to do. So the fun becomes devalued because the other player gets pissed off at you, or you get bored waiting for them as they explore what you already did.

Maybe the replay value is very low? One thing I’ve learned is that if a game has low replay it ends up on a gamer and/or game store shelf very fast.

Without me playing both I can only guess but I bet I’m pretty close to why people love or hate the game.”

“2 games that i felt very "meh" about that critics loved were neverwinter nights and warcraft 3. Both because the storylines made no sense and were not compelling to me at all. Whereas I loved mass effect, baldur's gate, the other 2 warcraft games, starcraft...”
