“Although they copied Half-Life 2's gravity gun (but at the same time took the chainsaw away :'() and added "bullet time" this expansion is not as fun to play as the main game was. The quality of the story (Yes, Doom 3, the main game, has a rather interesting one, if you take the time to look around, read all the mails and listen to all the logs etc. as you make your way deeper into the facility.) is significantly weaker compared to the main game and the ending is not nearly as satisfying. You basically do the same things all over again, activate and repair machines, take some mars walks and of course shoot the evil extra-dimensional beings from hell. (There are no new enemies except for the bosses.)
Conclusion: If you always wanted to catch fireballs 'n rockets and return them to sender (or thrower? ;-)) or if you are a sucker for bullet time packed boss battles and arena fights, this just might be for you!”
