DESCRIPTION
No rest for Donkey Kong, as his stash of bananas has been pilfered by the greedy Kremlins. Guide the mighty ape and his agile young companion Diddy Kong through varied levels of adventure in the quest to recover those missing bananas. Meet up with other members of the Kong family for entertaining conversation and useful information. Keep the enemies at bay with barrels and rolling attacks. Players can switch back and forth between Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong with the "Select" button and the unique abilities of each character are required to explore all the hidden areas and discover the many secrets of Donkey Kong Country.
This Game Boy Color version of the game has been ported, as directly as possible, from the 1994 SNES version of Donkey Kong Country. Although the graphics are not quite as smooth and colorful on the 8-bit hand-held screen as they are in the 16-bit console classic, the Game Boy version features rendered backgrounds and active, colorful characters. The story and level progression have been preserved for the Game Boy Color release, including all of the platform jumping, underwater swimming, and zippy mine-cart riding challenges found on the SNES version of the game. The Game Boy Color cartridge even features bonus stages not included in the original. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
