DESCRIPTION
Mario and his girlfriend are somewhat recognizable, flickering is all but nonexistent, and the controls are tight, but Donkey Kong for the Atari 2600 is a significant step down from the 1981 arcade original. The titular character looks like a gingerbread man, there is no music (or intermissions), the sound effects are sparse, and the levels are missing a number of ingredients, such as fireballs in the Girders level and at least one hammer in both levels. Worse, the game is without two entire screens: Elevators and Conveyor Belts. A very playable, but ultimately incomplete port of a coin-op classic. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
