DESCRIPTION
Divine Divinity is a massive role-playing game in the tradition of Diablo, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale set in the fantasy world of Rivellon, where the Lord of Chaos is spreading his evil dominion. Containing more than 20,000 screens, 150 non-player characters, and 100 types of monsters, the adventure is played from an isometric perspective. Players create their character (male or female) from three professions, warrior, wizard or survivor (thief or cutthroat), with standard RPG traits and statistics in vitality, mana, strength, agility, intelligence, and constitution. Characters feature a total of 480 skill levels — 96 skills of five levels each.
Quest-based gameplay features inventory management, interaction with objects, equipment (belts, gloves, rings, amulets, and more) that changes the appearance of the character when worn, trading, conversing with NPCs, and combat. Each character type has a special move, sneaking, swirl attack, and teleportation (survivor, warrior, and wizard respectively), as well as offensive, defensive, damage, armor, resistance, reputation, and weight restraint ratings.
Skill sets are divided into "Ways" and associated with "Paths" for each type of character, which determines the style of play. Survivors can take the path of the thief, lore, or talents, warriors follow the path of specialist, ranger, warrior's lore or gods, and wizards choose from powers of matter, body and spirit, elemental powers, or summoning. Although designed for 3D acceleration, Divine Divinity also offers a software mode, as well as multiple solutions to increase game speed. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide

+ Graphics. Escpecially for their time, these graphics were amazing. You're most likely used to better graphics these days and different perspectives/viewpoints but it's still beautiful.
+Music. Generally I don't pay much heed to the music but this game simply has some pretty darn epic and immersive music! The sound effects are rather average quality though...
+ Belgium! Yeah yeah, stupid reason but hey, what can I do about it? A guy's allowed to have some national pride :D
+ You start the game choosing one of 6 possible heroes which determine your player model, your starting skill/stats and your class-based unique skill. Other than that it doesn't matter and you get new skills troughout the game by leveling. This means your character doesn't limit you in your options while customizing. For example: my first character was a male mage with some damaging spells, one good summoning, good sneaking and lockpicking and able to repair his own gear. A good mixture of the three classes :D
+ The difficulty is good. You're always in for a challenge but never so that you're automatically stuck.
+ Gameplay mechanics. The game is a fine example of a good RPG with everything that accompanies that. You can also pause the game, which I find very usefull.
+ The world in itself could be seen as a collection of some huge maps and you know what? While you're on one of these maps there. is. no. loading. Ever!
- English voice acting. While it may not be a problem at first, there are some dialogues where you'll simply scream :D
- There are three skills in-game that are totally broken in your favor. While this doesn't seem to be a bad deal it does mean you could possibly beat the game as soon as you get the scorpion trap skill...
- Quests can be somewhat hard to complete at some points due to lack of hints on what to do. While it isn't a problem in general I do think there is at least one quest I've never completed :D”

“I know, it's kinda old, but it was released only few days ago here, and I never played it before (but I finished Beyond Divinity a long time ago), so I gave it a spin. Haven't spent much time...”
