“Excellent. I can't believe how much this game evolved while still retaining literally EVERYTHING from the original. I loved the original and I love this game even more. If I may go in a different way from a typical review I'd like to state that this game has strengthened my friendships and forged new ones.

I had an old roommate named Will who always gamed with me, matter of fact we pretty much dubbed our house a gaming house. As time progresses and women come into the picture you always lose track of friends, nobody is at fault and nothing is held against anybody, but I remember we were always HUGE RPG fans. He didn't like the original Dissidia and I couldn't for the life of me figure it out so it was always a game I enjoyed and a game he never got into... Lo and behold two years later Dissidia 012 comes out and Will was on board to give it a shot! We lived roughly a city apart and he always made his way out to where I was every Friday for what we dubbed "Dissidia Fight Club". To quote him he said he enjoyed this title more than the original because it had characters he wanted to play as AND because the customization was much more deeper and the collecting was a lot more accessible and fun.

That's the old friendship strengthened. The new friendship was a random person on my Facebook who added me through a game I was playing on there (Knights of the Crystals) I couldn't contain my excitement on Facebook and he noticed and started chatting with me about his excitement for the game too. When the game released the disc copy was delayed but it dropped on the PSN store and we both got copies and started playing hard. Trading notes, tactics, skills, and eventually we fought over Ad Hoc using our PS3's and neither of us had ever had half a challenge as tough as we were on each other. We still keep in constant touch and we've both figured out that we're both very hardcore gamers. So two people that never knew each other and added each other randomly became good friends miles upon miles apart from each other.

Dissidia 012 is fantastic, and I'm glad that I have friends to play, trade, combine, share, and fight against. This game is more social than you can imagine! You have to allow it to be that way though.”
