DESCRIPTION
Mickey and crew are back for more extreme sports action in this skateboarding release from Konami's Disney Sports lineup. Players can select their favorite Disney character from the following six choices: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pete, and Max. Characters vary in speed, acceleration, jump, stability, and spin rating, but each can perform the same basic tricks as well as over 40 grabs, flips, grinds, lip tricks, power-slides, and both special and super tricks. The latter two are performed whenever a character fills his or her trick meter, an on-screen display built up by stringing together combos.
Five modes of play include Challenge Mode, Trick Championship, Training, Free Ride, and Time Attack. Challenge Mode begins in the urban streets of Hillsbank Pallisades as players attempt to complete the following five objectives within the allotted time: perform a trick worth 10,000 points, perform a trick worth 35,000 points, string together eight combos, collect all the level's crystals, and destroy ten obstacles. Achieving all five objectives unlocks the next stage, and players will receive a letter ranking at the end of their run based on total points. Later levels include an amusement park, space satellite, ocean resort, and more.
Trick Championship is a one- or two-player game that involves performing a series of combos in three separate runs to achieve a specific score, while Training Mode consists of 14 lessons where players learn trick techniques and can unlock pieces of artwork by completing objectives. Free Mode is simply a chance to skate around each of the eight levels without worrying about satisfying certain conditions or finishing within a time limit. Time Attack has players scrambling to reach a level's five checkpoints as quickly as possible. Scattered around each stage are hidden skateboards, and completing missions can unlock various outfits. Records for all modes and levels are saved to memory card. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
