Cruella DeVil is at it again. She's captured all Dalmatian puppies throughout England, except for Oddball and Domino, and penned them up in little crates. Now it's up to Domino and Oddball to find the puppies and help them escape. Cruella's robotic toys, landscape traps and evil henchmen provide obstacles through 16 levels as the duo searches various landscapes and utilizes all of their puppy skills and strength to bring the captives home.
Games are single-player with the option of choosing either puppy as the protagonist who rescues the pups. Skill levels range from easy to challenging and, similar to Super Mario Brothers, the pups gobble treats to gain strength, bash evil toys to bits with a menacing bark and rescue pup prisoners from the crates with a resounding head butt.
As levels advance, the treats are harder to get and the landscapes and monsters become more challenging. The challenge remains constant as each level garners more surprises, treasures and risks each time you return and advance. Other features include mini-games within the levels of rescue. For example, take a break from rescuing pups and earn some points in a round of golf or spend time just "puttin' on the dawg" to dig up a few matching plants and test your memory.
Disney's 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue supports both keyboard control and a DirectX compatible gamepad. The latter is recommended for ease of manipulating the pups' actions, directional movement and speed. Can you help the Disney puppies save their siblings from Cruella DeVil? Bark once for yes! ~ Kim Olson, All Game Guide
