DESCRIPTION
Discworld Noir is the third adventure mystery game to be based on the Discworld series of novels by Terry Prachett.
You play as private investigator Lewton, based loosely on the Humphrey Bogart detective characters. In this role, you wander around the dark city of Ankh Morpork collecting clues and interrogating suspects. Clues can be stored and used to solve challenging puzzles by means of a notebook, into which relevant information is automatically written.
This version of the Discworld consists of hundreds of pre-rendered 3D scenes which are faithful to the dark tone of the original books. Noir clichés are present — the shabby detective, dark bars, busty dames, driving rain, one-on-one questioning — and the inventive soundtrack has been especially created to further enhance the atmosphere of the game.
The game's story begins (via flashback) with the quest for a missing person. But, in true Discworld adventure fashion, the search for a client's friend, Mundy, quickly becomes mired in a rollicking, the-pen-is-mightier-than-the-sword-type of environment that has Lewton searching the underside of Ankh Morpork. ~ Nick Smith, All Game Guide
