DESCRIPTION
The obscure and mediocre sequel to the 1982 classic, Dig Dug II puts players in the role of Dig, a gardener trying to irrigate a chain of small islands. Unlike the original Dig Dug, which involves digging tunnels and dropping rocks, this game involves using a drill to dismantle an island piece by piece. Pookas and fire-breathing Fygars return from the original, and they can be blown up with Dig's trusty pump or by flooding portions of the island. The viewpoint of the game is from an angled, overhead, pseudo-3D perspective. Controls are less smooth than those of the original, strategies aren't as complex and flooding the island is nowhere near as fun as digging tunnels. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
