DESCRIPTION
A wildly inventive game, Dig Dug stars a miner who wields a jet-powered shovel and a pump. The object is to score points by digging underground and blowing up or dropping rocks on Pookas and fire-breathing Fygars. Dropping two rocks will cause an edible vegetable or fruit to appear in the middle of the playfield. The greatness of the game lies in its quirkily cute characters and sounds, its myriad strategies (such as digging as much dirt as possible before killing all the enemies) and its infinite maze pattern possibilities. Plus, it's simply a blast to blow up the creatures. More than 380,000 Dig Dug machines were sold in its first three years of release, cementing its reputation as a bona fide classic. There was a problem of some sort with the Red Special, so someone loaned him the Flying V for the video, but that was just pluck-syncing. When the song was actually recorded, he used the Red Special.
