DESCRIPTION
The fourth installment of Capcom's gothic action series is the first to feature a new protagonist: Nero, who enters battle with a double-barreled revolver called the "Blue Rose" and an ornate sword known as the "Red Queen." He is also a card-carrying member of the Order of the Sword, an organization systematically dismantled by former series protagonist, Dante. Nero's power is not limited to his distinctive weapons, however. Nero's right arm, a.k.a. "the devil bringer," is imbued with an ethereal glow and is a source of supernatural strength. The demonic appendage lets him perform feats of agility not possible by mere mortals, such as grabbing enemies from afar, slamming them into the ground, spinning them overhead, or initiating various other context-sensitive moves.
Players can once again freely switch between melee and projectile attacks to string together elaborate combos, with bonus points awarded for style. By varying his attacks and minimizing the damage received in each level, Nero will earn "Proud Souls" to spend on sword combos, bullets, and improved attributes. Fans of earlier versions can still collect health-enhancing orbs from defeated enemies and initiate "devil trigger" transformations for temporary boosts in speed and power. Throughout his demon-slaying journey, Nero must solve environment-based puzzles and confront towering boss creatures, with each conquest allowing him the opportunity to upgrade his powerful arm. Dante is also playable at certain points in Devil May Cry 4, which according to producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, features more content than the first three titles combined. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“Compared to the three other installments in the Devil May Cry series, DMC4 is a strong contender. Improving on DMC3's gameplay while adding in its own story and characters, it's a game that everyone should try at least once. ”

“I have always loved DMC and i have always loved how deep the story is... sadly i haven't had the pleasure of completing this game. Whatever monsters and whatever story comes out with it i follow 100% but sadly i just got side tracked from this one....”

“DMC series has been one of my favourites for a while & this installment didn't fail to please me. After the great run through of the game, then the twist when I backtracked... just a lot of fun”

“Pretty fun, but the challenges can get frustrating. Basic hack n slash, so good for when you don't feel like caring about too much... kinda how I feel about Ninja Gaiden.”

“I did it. I beat Dante on Mission 10 (Devil Hunter). My God, that is the HARDEST boss I think I've ever fought. I am genuinely afraid to try it on the higher difficulties. By the way, DMC is...”

“Did they make this game with a big sheet of paper splat paint on one side the fold it? They made half a game.... then make you replay it in reverse... Still fun :) Haven't played the other but this one has tempted me to try!!!”

“It's good up until the point you realize you have to fight the same boss 3-4 times and go to the same areas throughout the whole game... Nero is a pretty cool new addition to the game though. Not as good as 1 and 3”
