As a fixed screen shooter, Demon Attack puts you in control of a lone spaceship with a single mission: destroy an alien onslaught. Waves of multi-colored aliens fill the screen, moving back and forth across the reaches of space. As levels are cleared, the moon's surface changes colors while the enemy ships assume different colors and shapes as well.
In later levels, some enemies split in half when hit by your missiles and cause you to have to eliminate two smaller ones! As an added hazard, alien ships rain laser fire down at you; to avoid death and destruction, you must maneuver your ship back and forth across the bottom of the screen. Points are awarded for each successful attack that destroys an alien ship.
After a level has been cleared, a new batch of enemies is released and you receive an additional ship. Demon Attack continues until all of your ships (lives) have been lost or you simply turn it off (there is no real ending). As an added feature, you can alter the spaceship's firing method by toggling between a regular missile or tracer missile that locks onto alien spacecraft.
Other features include both joystick and keyboard control as well as two-player action. Do you have the reflexes to dodge the aliens' laser fire and blast them from the skies? Get ready to repulse the Demon Attack! ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
