DESCRIPTION
The King is dead and the throne is vacant. Set in England, you play the part of a Saxon lord who wishes to become the next king. With the help of two other Saxon lords you must defeat the three Norman lords. However, to win the game you must hold all of the Norman castles and may have to attack other Saxons to accomplish a complete victory. Help also comes in the form of Robin Hood, who can be found in Sherwood Forest.
A map of England is divided into 18 sections, each of which has its own value that contributes to the amount of gold a player earns each turn. Gold is used to purchase more military units and to host tournaments. Tournaments can be called by any lord. Those who participate will joust for land. Along with battles another form of attack includes raiding. If you raid an opponent's castle you must swordfight with the enemy guards and hopefully come away with gold. One other outcome of a raid is the rescue of another lord's daughter which will result in marriage and the reception of all of that lord's land. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
