DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors plays a lot like Street Fighter II, but with classic monsters rendered in cartoonish, anime-style art. Players can select from 10 different characters, including Demitri (a vampire), Victor (a Frankenstein-like monster), and Sasquatch. A six-button control panel allows for the following standard moves: Jab Punch, Strong Punch, Fierce Punch, Short Kick, Forward Kick and Roundhouse Kick. Multi-hit combos, two-in-ones, throws and other special moves are also available, including Street Fighter II-like fireballs and uppercuts. And, as in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, a power bar allows for super moves. After the first round, enemies use their special moves frequently, making the game extra challenging, especially for players having a tough time discovering their own character's special moves. One unique feature is that players can block while in the air — a fighting game first. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
