DESCRIPTION
In DarkSpyre, the first fantasy role playing computer game designed under the Event Horizon Software label, your character is faced with saving the human race by entering the foreboding and menacing granite spiral tower erected by the Gods of the Three Ways. The gods have tired of the disbelief rampant among humans and prepared a challenge in the form of the DarkSpyre for anyone brave enough to enter and survive the trials of the multiple levels. Mankind had three centuries to meet the challenge but after 200 years, ten champions have failed and now it's your turn. Time is running out! Failure will doom the human race to extinction as the gods will destroy the world by lightening and fire and form a new world. Success will bring fame and a future uninterrupted by the meddling gods.
The quest is fraught with danger in the guise of creatures (more than 40) created by the gods of War, Magic and Intellect (the Three Ways) that reside in the tower, each with unique weaknesses and strengths. Traps and puzzles abound to test your character's intellect, weapons must be found and techniques mastered, an evolving set of magical skills must be learned and a wide variety of objects (keys, potions, tokens, Runes of Power) await discovery. DarkSpyre is played in a real time environment with a single character and learn-as-you-go methodology. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
