DESCRIPTION
Radical Entertainment's Dark Summit blends objective-based missions and an intriguing narrative with high-speed snowboarding action in challenging 3D environments. Taking place on four tracks that feature a wealth of shortcuts and alternate routes, players must complete various objectives ranging from outrunning the local security force to disarming a bomb planted on the mountain slope. These objectives can be rejected or accepted, and once completed reward the player with points that can be used to unlock areas further up Mount Garrick. These challenges are assigned by an operative working undercover for Chief O' Leary — the man in charge of keeping the area's secret from being uncovered.
An assortment of tricks, including such genre staples as grinds, manuals, and grabs are performed via the game's three-button trick system. Tricks form an integral part of the gameplay and are key to not only completing objectives, but gaining experience points that can be used to unlock new boards and outfits. Exploring higher up the mountain not only unlocks advanced tricks and provides additional challenges to complete, but also reveals some of the mystery behind the strange goings-on at the peak of the mountain. Extra characters can be unlocked for future use. ~ Gavin Frankle, All Game Guide
