DESCRIPTION

Dark Age of Camelot: Shrouded Isles expands the online fantasy world of Dark Age of Camelot with additional land, classes, races, graphical features, and music. Reflective surfaces have been added to all the realms along with realistic water effects, player and monster shadows, a new terrain system supporting cliffs, a higher frame rate, and overall higher resolution. Though all the terrain from the original game will be upgraded, the expansion lands take full advantage of the upgrades. A new soundtrack program plays music which varies depending on where your character is, what time it is, and other factors.

The Realm of Albion receives the island of Avalon, a center of learning being invaded by the hordes of Morgana. Morgana's undead Roman skeletons have allied with the Drakoran, a race of dragon-men. To counter this threat Albion has allied with the lord of the underworld, Arawn. The Inconnu, Arawn's personal slave race, are short pale humanoids with large black eyes who spend most of their time underground. Albion's two new classes, the Necromancer and Reaver, are also closely connected with Arawn.

The Realm of Hibernia now includes the island HyBrasil, home of the woodland loving Sylvan. The Sylvan are graceful creatures with bark-like skin and leafy arms. An evil race, the Fomorians, have invaded and are devastating the forests, compelling the Sylvan to ally with the Hibernians. Hibernia's two new classes, the naturalistic Animist spellcasters and the scythe wielding Valewalker mages, are closely connected with the Sylvan ideas about nature.

The Realm of Midgard incorporates the island of Aegir, home of the legendary Troll Fathers who live in their underground city of Trollheim. Unfortunately, Aegir has been overrun by the savage Morvalt; the Troll Fathers managed to domesticate some of the Morvalt, now called Valkyn, but have requested aid from Midgard. The two new classes, the Bonedancer necromancer and the weapon shunning Savage, are closely connected with the Valkyn gods Bogdar and Rakor (who have been accepted in the Norse pantheon). ~ All Game Guide
