DESCRIPTION

This summer 2004 release from Mythic Entertainment includes the popular persistent-world RPG Dark Age of Camelot and its two expansion packs, Dark Age of Camelot: Shrouded Isles and Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis.

Online gamers enter a realm of familiar fantasy adventure in Mythic Entertainment's Dark Age of Camelot, in which they are invited to assume the roles of heroes and villains in the style of classic Arthurian legends. In addition to knights and knaves of King Arthur's Albion, players can also choose to become powerful Celt mystics of Hibernia or ruthless Viking warriors of Midgard. Each of these three realms offers a distinct flavor to its characters' history and motivations. Though a variety of class and skill combinations are available to characters from each of these three realms, the hero's homeland is an integral part of gameplay that will influence development throughout the course of the game.

Dark Age of Camelot: Shrouded Isles expands the online fantasy world of Dark Age of Camelot with additional land, classes, races, graphical features, and music. Reflective surfaces have been added to all the realms along with realistic water effects, player and monster shadows, a new terrain system supporting cliffs, a higher frame rate, and overall higher resolution. Though all the terrain from the original game will be upgraded, the expansion lands take full advantage of the upgrades. A new soundtrack program plays music which varies depending on where your character is, what time it is, and other factors.

Trials of Atlantis introduces a new land, accessible through portals in each realm: the ruins of Atlantis, with underwater and aboveground areas. The last residents of Atlantis saw the end of their civilization approaching and decided to construct a series of trials for whoever discovered their cities. Each trial is challenging enough to require the teamwork of a group of players, but the hard work is rewarded with a "Master Level" rating for every player, which chronicles what trials each player has successfully completed. The realms of Albion, Midgard, and Hibernia also receive one new race each in the Trials of Atlantis expansion, new monsters, updated graphics, items, treasures, and the frightening bosses of Atlantis. ~ All Game Guide
