Welcome to Lawndale High, a school filled with bland teachers, football jocks...and Daria Morgendorffer. The teen has fallen asleep in Mr. O'Neill's less-than-stimulating class and is ousted from her slumber by the principal. According to Ms. Li, five school items have gone missing!

While the announcement did little to kindle Daria's interest, she realized that things were a little different around the school. Though her surroundings resembled Lawndale High, it was if she had awoken in the middle of a nightmare. She must be dreaming...

Daria isn't dreaming — she's in the netherworld! In Daria's Inferno, you must guide Daria through five circles and collect the so-called Five Crucial Instruments of Institutional Education. Once all five instruments have been obtained, the anti-hero will have a shot at escaping her private hell.

In the Lawndale High circle, classrooms have been converted into torture chambers of institutional learning and horrors lurk the halls and rooms. The second circle finds Daria in a place of extreme loathing: the mall. Here, she'll interact with shoes and cosmetics while exploring all three levels.

With a piercing parlor and the Zon Mosh Pit, Degas Street represents the third circle. The fourth circle involves interaction with her mother, father, and sister at home — a traumatic experience for the embittered teen!

After leaving the Morgendorffer Residence, Daria will advance to the fifth and final circle: Ms. Li's Underschool Labyrinth, where she'll need to confront school enemies and teachers. Clearing and overcoming all five circles involves collecting and using a number of items while fulfilling a specified condition.

Moving Daria and wandering through the various circles is handled via a point-and-click interface with an onscreen menu. The menu includes a meter that shows how irritated Daria is as well as buttons for hints, using an item, and accessing the inventory. When the cursor is positioned over certain characters, it will turn into a mouth icon, at which point you can learn information pertaining to the missing items and how to clear certain environments.

Daria's Inferno includes voice acting from the animated television series and a variety of characters including her best friend Jane, her sister Quinn and Jake Morgendorffer. There are over 20 locations to visit in this netherworld adventure. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
