As in its 1999 predecessor, Custom Robo V2 has you controlling a robot in a series of arena battles. Starting off in a small laboratory, your character begins with a small collection of mechanical parts. As the quest expands, more gear becomes available and additional robot collectors are encountered.
The thrust of Custom Robo V2's gameplay lies in its fighting system. Using the collected parts, players customize their robots before entering an arena to battle. Up to four players can take part in these battles, though in the main game only one human can participate. Long-, medium- and short-range attacks are all possible as you try to defeat your opponent.
In Custom Robo V2's single-player adventure, you must trade and collect parts to advance. Other characters and stores will sell, buy, and trade parts and upgrades. Also, defeating other Custom Robo players allows you to take pieces from their armor. ~ Jonti Davies, All Game Guide
