DESCRIPTION
Blending the strategy associated with collectible card games with the turn-based structure of a board game, Culdcept Saga is the first in the series to offer four-player support online. Each player, referred in the game as a Cepter, begins with a 50-card deck from a pool of 480. Cards are used to cast spells, use items, or summon creatures to fight rival opponents. The object is to claim as much territory, represented by squares on a map, as possible. Once a player moves into unclaimed territory, he or she is allowed to place creatures found on one of the cards to guard the square.
Subsequent players who land on an occupied square can do one of two things: pay a toll and continue moving or fight to reclaim the territory. Once a battle is won, players earn the square as well as the card used to defend it. By winning matches in the Story Mode, players will be able to build custom decks for use in competition on Xbox Live. Previously released on PlayStation 2, Culdcept on Xbox 360 features revamped 3D visuals, more animation, alternate map routes, and achievement points. Players can also customize their character's appearance and card book by visiting the Xbox Live Marketplace. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“Haven't played Storm-based deck in a while. I won but I'm not totally happy with my spell loadout - I want it to DESTROY. :D Thinking maybe some more lapping/movement/deck cycling stuff might...”

“A pretty laid back game where you mix up a board game with a card game and then throw a die into the mix. Even though it hasn't really GRABBED me, I can just goof around with the game every now and then before going onto something else.”

“Whew. My first attack / card theft deck performed admirably. My honor is restored. ”

“New deck, inspired by the fantastic beating I got from Trey on Monday. Held up better than I thought it would on first try. ”

“Deceptively deep board game/card game. Artwork could be better and graphics are a bit below standard, but it's great fun.”

“This game is a mix between magic the gathering and monopoly. I would only suggest this game to people who enjoy long drawn out card games, the graphics in the game are very lacking the card types are very generic and overall the game is very boring.”

“Stayed up all night giving Culdcept Saga a fair try. Before I just beat the first battle, then turned it off. And, in staying up all night playing I only managed to clear probably 3-5 more matches....”

“Unless you already like card-based or board-type games, Culdcept Saga would probably bore you to tears. I happen to like both and find the game unique, interesting, and still simple enough to play casually as a time-killer.”

“Beat TICO in the storyline, managed to score a few new cards that may turn out to be interesting... One that casts "sleep" on the enemy. Not quite sure what that means just yet, but I hope...”

“This is my first exposure to the game, not having known about it on the PS1 or PS2. Very much like a combination of monopoly and magic the gathering. Well over 500 cards to use, but you need to earn them in versus battles against the AI or online. Va”
