DESCRIPTION

Set in the claustrophobic confines of an atomic icebreaking vessel shipwrecked near the North Pole, Cryostasis puts players in the shoes of Alexander Nesterov, a Russian meteorologist sent to investigate strange occurrences on the submarine. Once aboard, Nesterov discovers that the captain and the crewmen have seemingly died of exposure, only to be transformed into bizarre creatures by the extreme cold. Nesterov has a unique "Mental Echo" ability that lets him travel back and alter events from the ship's past, but he can only use it on former crewmembers whose memories have frozen along with the rest of their body. Cryostasis makes use of a unique temperature dynamic, whereby players must keep Nesterov warm enough by finding sources of heat such as lamps, ovens, and heaters. The strange creatures on the submarine, however, can only thrive in the subzero temperatures, so they attack the only warm-blooded creature remaining on the ship. “Yep It's going to be on the chopping block after i beat Dark Sector! Read through the review...I'm pretty sure it's going to be one of those Stalker level cult classic games. Reminds me of a game on Gamecube that I have called Geist.”

“Europe release date: February 27, 2009.
This game has nothing to do with Bioshock, it's a survival horror.
Good game, but extremely linear”
