“In my opinion this was the absolute pinnacle of this series! This game was excellent and was really ambitious graphically for it's time. Contra 3 wasn't borderline impossible like most installments of Contra yet it still remained challenging and fun. I loved the fact that it changed from run and gunner to top view shoot 'em up between some stages because I find having just sidescrolling run and gunning gets rather boring for a whole game.

Good job Konami! Perhaps one day you'll make a Contra I respect again someday... I'll keep playing them but I'm not holding my breath.

P.S. Contra 4 sucked.

P.P.S. With the exception of Hard Corps Uprising (on Uprising mode) it stands as the only Contra game I have beaten on hard the whole way through.”
