DESCRIPTION

Conquest: Frontier Wars is a futuristic RTS game set in space, featuring warfare between the fleets of three distinct races. Battles take place on an essentially two-dimensional field populated by three-dimensional ships and bases, allowing for a simplified control structure while still conveying a sense of limitless 3D space. The battle areas of the game's 16 missions are linked through an overall map of the conquerable universe. Different weapons technologies, hero characters, and leadership structures unique to each race add to the complexity of strategy involved in the game, while the ability to assign more general orders to admirals in the fleet can help alleviate some of the less interesting micromanagement common in other real-time strategy games.

200 years in the future, the people of Earth have learned to move across the great distances of space using wormholes. The brave Terrans have only recently discovered this revolutionary means of travel, however, and new possibilities come with new risks. While exploring the destination of a recently discovered wormhole, the people of Earth come into contact with a violent alien race that immediately destroys the exploration vessel and implicitly threatens the future existence of the human race. As Earth begins to realize that it must actively engage this new threat through exploration, expansion, and battle, a third race of space travelers arrives, adding new possibilities of strategy, diplomacy, and unknown dangers to the tumultuous conflict. ~ T.J.
