DESCRIPTION
Based on the arcade game of the same name, Congo Bongo for the Atari 2600 puts you in the role of a hunter on a dangerous jungle safari.
In the first of three screens, you must climb the cliffs of Jungle Mountain in order to get to Congo Bongo, the jungle gorilla. You must also cross a bridge and jump a chasm. Along the way, Congo will throw coconuts at you, and monkeys will try to jump on your back. The monkeys slow you down tremendously, but a couple of jumps will send them scurrying.
Screen two takes place at the Great Jungle River. Here you must jump across the river on fish, lily pads and hippos to reach the safe island. You can only stand on hippos and fish for a short period of time, as they will toss you into the water if you stay on them too long. Once you reach the other side of the river, raging rhinos will charge after you.
In screen number three, your job is to light Congo on fire; don't worry, though, he'll be back to taunt you all over again in screen one, since the game repeats itself until you lose all of your lives. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
